Mick is one of the newet members of the Plumbcare team, joining us in June in the newly created role of parts manager. Mick’s brief is to overhaul the whole management of parts including ordering, invoicing and stock control.
Parts have always been looked after by various team members, alongside other responsibilities, but we’ve never had someone dedicated exclusively to overseeing the parts that we buy and use – which is, as you can imagine, central to enabling us to provide an efficient and effective repair and maintenance service.
Mick’s background is in systems and analysis and he brings years of experience in setting up administrative systems to ensure that processes flow smoothly. His appointment should bring improved accuracy in the ordering of parts, more efficient stock management and the negotiation of better relationships with suppliers. When you consider that we order around 40-50 parts per week in the summer and up to 400 parts per week in the winter, he has the potential to make a big difference!
Mick spoke of his new role:
“I’ve spent the first few weeks conducting a significant analysis of how we order parts, how we track them through to jobs through to costs and invoicing. I have already identified a number of ways to improve how we do things which will streamline the process for us internally and enable us to improve our service to customers through more intelligent stocking of parts and faster ordering procedures.”
We’re delighted to have Mick on board and sure that his work will create efficiencies across all areas of the business.
