Our campaign to raise money and awareness for Epilepsy Action has got off to a fantastic start with our first fundraising event; the Bradford 10K, completed on the 17th March. Our team of 6, which included people from all areas of the business – the MD, office staff and engineers – all completed the race (despite the weather trying to thwart it with early signs of snow and rain!).
The team – MD Kris Pashley, operations manager Tom Scott, gas manager Gary Praid and engineers Steve Mellor, Gary Tabor and Dannon Jennings – all started together and then took the race at their own pace.
Kris completed the distance in a fantastic time of just over 42 minutes and everyone finished in a time they were really happy with. Congratulations to everyone who took part. The event was fantastic; lots of support along the way including a brass band and a steel drum band. Dannon even crossed the line hand in hand with the 65 minute marker runner and made a new friend!
At the time of writing we have raised £335 for Epilepsy Action which puts us well on the way to our initial target of £500 after just one challenge! Our Just Giving page will cover all our fundraising activities for Epilepsy Action so you can still donate if you haven’t already.
All 6 members of the Plumbcare Bradford 10K team thoroughly enjoyed it and have already said they’ll happily take part in other events. We’re planning lots more, including Tough Mudder in the summer, so look out for details of fresh challenges on the website and on Facebook and Twitter. You can also post messages of support on there for us as well!
